In Memory of Sarah Seldin

Sarah SeldinSarah Seldin passed away on August 23, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ted Seldin.

In 2014 Sarah and Ted established the Ted and Sarah Seldin Family RBJH Activities Endowment Fund. This fund provides financial support for programs and activities for the benefit of the residents of the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home. The Ted and Sarah Seldin LIFE & LEGACY Endowment Fund was established in August 2021 in memory of Ted and in honor of Sarah with funds from the Theodore M. Seldin Charitable Remainder Trust. Throughout their lives Ted and Sarah were extremely generous in many ways to the Omaha Jewish and secular community.

Sarah has been involved with many Jewish and secular organizations, such as Hadassah, NCJW, Sisterhood, and Brownie and Girl Scout troops. Sarah started her own company, Restorers, Inc., where she purchased and renovated old buildings. She received a Landmarks’ Award for restoration of an Omaha house, served on the boards of the National Association of Home Builders’ local and national auxiliaries, and the Omaha Landmarks Association. She was appointed by then Governor Bob Kerry as a builder member of the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority.

Sarah touched the lives of many people with her grace and generosity. The Foundation is grateful for Sarah and Ted’s generosity to the Jewish community throughout their lives, and for their after-lifetime planning. ;

Sarah is survived by daughters Stephanie (Rodger) Howard and Beth (Amnon) Dotan, and grandchildren Liatte Dotan, Yonatan Dotan, Alex Howard and Adam Howard.
